Plot
Jai Mohan is a man who leads a double life as an NIA agent of the special task force of the Indian government. On one of his missions, he goes undercover in a set-up of the exporting business as a disguise. Jai falls in love with Anjali and marries her against the rejection of his chief. However, one day, Jai is forced to reveal to his wife that he is, in fact, an undercover agent after she follows him in suspicion of having an affair. Meanwhile, the terrorist known as Victor Rana is on the move, and to catch him, Jai’s chief asks Anjali to act as a bar dancer/girlfriend to Victor under the name of Laila. Watch the movie to discover what happens after Anjali agrees to do so and what comes of this dangerous mission.

Analysis
Laila O Laila is something you’ve seen before a million times. It has an overpowered protagonist with work and home life conflicts, a damsel in distress and clingy wife, and a cold-hearted antagonist. It is the same thing that has been seen over and over again. The story could have had potential if it was to look at the complicated relationship between Jai and Anjali, but it uses Anjali as a pawn in a larger picture that will benefit Jai in his mission. Moreover, we don’t know much about Anjali, and therefore, it questions why the movie would place her front and center in the title but make her just another tool for Jai.

Verdict
Laila O Laila fails to deliver something new to the genre but instead falls back on cliches, tropes, and whatever has been done. There isn’t much substance to the film, and the acting and story do little to help it. If you are looking for something reminiscent of classic Bollywood action that does not do anything revolutionary, and if you want to watch something just for the sake of it, then you can watch this movie.
