Star Performances:Â
Expectations were sky high from Shreyas Chinga, who is also co director. However, he manages to generate your curiosity with his portrayal. It would not be wrong to say the movie ‘David’ rests on his shoulders.Â
This is also one of the final movies of Bullet Prakash, who passed away in 2020. So, anyone who is an admirer of his work should not miss this movie at all.Â
Analysis:Â
As a film industry, Kannada cinema is in an experimental phase. Hence, the makers are promoting every project 'with a difference', movies like ‘Sapta Sagraadche Ello’ being a classic example.Â
Sadly, that is not the case with ‘David’. It is the classic representation of ‘Too many cooks spoil the broth’. Probably multitasking is not Shreyas Chinga’s cup of tea, and ‘David’ is a strong testimonial.Â
While the plot is interesting, what it lacks is coherence. Thankfully, Shreyas Chinga didn’t make a meal of it like ‘Kabzaa’, but it was just not enough. The narrative feels incomplete and underdeveloped in many places. Unnecessary sequences that only make the experience a drag made matters worse for this movie.Â
Shreyas Chinga had the potential to do the extraordinary. However, when it came to execution, his vision fell flat. The supporting cast also falls short, with many actors appearing out of place and unconvincing. Only Avinash and Bullet Prakash tried their best, but their efforts were fruitless, thanks to limited screen space.Â

What’s Not There?Â
Verdict:Â
As a crime thriller, ‘David’ fails to maintain the suspense and engagement expected from a movie of this genre. An inconsistent narrative and underdeveloped characters contribute to the film's declining appeal. All in all ‘David struggles to deliver a good, engaging thriller, ultimately leaving viewers disappointed.
