Plot
The story follows the life of Zoya Solanki and her family, who believes she is a lucky charm for the Indian cricket team. The reason for this belief was because she was born on the day India won its first World Cup, and the Indian team captain Nikhil Khoda, who doesn't believe in charms and superstitions. Through a lot of chance meetings, they become acquaintances and soon fall in love after overcoming a few hiccups along the way. There is another team player Robin who is intent on ousting Nikhil from captaincy to gain the position for himself and makes plans with his uncle, who is the president of the Board, to achieve his goal. As a part of this plan, he manipulates Zoya into making her believe Nikhil is using her luck for himself and takes advantage of the widespread belief in superstitions. Following this, Zoya and Nikhil clash and break up due to their misunderstandings, and Zoya becomes the lucky Mascot of the Indian cricket team. This results in widespread media coverage and fame for Zoya as a Cricket Goddess. The rest of the movie follows the complicated side of superstitions and how later on, Zoya realizes her mistake and works to patch up her relationship and her professional life as well.
Star Performance
Sonam Kapoor, like always, nailed herself in a quirky role. Dulquer Salman yet again proved that be it any role or language, he always aces the role. The family of Sonam Kapoor plays their supporting roles well, giving a playful family vibe. The Indian cricket team was an intriguing mix, consisting of various personalities that were entertaining to watch.
Analysis
The movie would seem of a fantasy genre but talks about the scary power of superstitions. It does try to convey the message of blind belief but may not cater to many viewers as the storyline may seem ridiculous and childish. If we look into the aesthetics and music, I feel they have done an excellent job as the movie is very colorful, and the songs are light-hearted. The romance is cute, but in concept it's not much for a two hour film. It is a one-time watch [but maybe not for Dulquer fans ;)]. They did prove to be a refreshing combination. The way they showed a team player purposely trying to fail his team for the position of captaincy may seem a bit over the top. Overall the movie can be said to be a light-hearted one-time watch.

The romantic comedy may not be as per the taste of many but it is quirky and cute, which makes it watchable. It is a light-hearted comedy that tries to convey a small message which does not make it seem entirely ridiculous.
