Plot

In Captive State, due to the massive invasion of aliens, Drummond’s family attempts to escape. But unfortunately, they were captured by aliens. Aliens killed the parents and left out their children, Gabriel and Rafe. This all happened in 2019. In the present 2027, aliens rule over the earth. Human beings are supposed to live in the resisted area where they are monitored by aliens. Closed Zones are the underground areas for the aliens. In this area, high government officials are allowed. Gabriel Drummond has been questioned by William Mulligan. William is Chicago Police Special Branch Commander. He believes the Phoenix resistance group will not sit silently and will do something against aliens. To protect aliens, Gabriel is questioned about the Phoenix. Gabriel is working in the Phoenix group, where his brother Rafe is the leader of the resistance. What are they going to do? Will they be able to protect Earth from aliens? Does William able to win over Phoenix? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance

John Goodman, as Detective William Mulliga, did an incredible performance in the movie. He did a fantastic acting in the film. The audience will be surprised to know how his character develops towards the film’s end. The audience will be thrilled to know his real intention in the end. Ashton Sanders, as Gabriel Drummond, did a fantastic performance in the movie. He shows the nature of a young brother who wants to help his older brother. He dared to stand against the aliens. Jonathan Majors, as Rafe Drummond did, excellently portrayed a strong leader. His determination to protect the earth from aliens was perfect. Everything about him was brilliant. Vera Farmiga as Jane Doe played a significant role. She hides her real identity to protect the group. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actor.

Analysis

The storyline of the film was great, creepy, horrifying, and scary. The film focuses on how the invasion of foreign organisms will affect earthlings. The film is a future oriental film. The thriller nature of the film is maintained from the start till the end. Supernatural elements like the aliens are shown in the movie. The background scenes were brilliantly framed. The editing and cinematography were well structured. The background music and songs play a significant role in the film. The dialogues were excellent. It shows political power influence in the world despite an alien invasion. Politicians’ belief in serving the powerful rather than saving weak people was well demonstrated in the film. The storyline was a fresh concept but not much exciting as expected from a science thriller film. There was a lack of clarity in the narration.
