Plot

Andrea who recently became sober is a writer. Her career has stalled since she published her debut novel two years ago.

Star Performance

Jamie Dorman after the success of the Fifty Shades series is kind of hard to latch on too. It's almost like the makers wanted to bank on his popularity and gave him the same nuances and actions that he did in the Fifty Shades franchise. The rest of the actors are also decent at best.

Analysis

Romance is a genre loved across generations; it's something that makes people escape from reality or makes them sob because of their life trajectory. There are many romance films that are loved across languages. Untogether feels incomplete not from a romantic aspect but from a screenplay and story aspect. Jamie Dorman is again in his suave wealthy man avtaar making the female audience gasp any moment he’s on screen. The movie wants to be deep and meaningful but barely scratches the surface. The intimate moments are sweet but not memorable. The film just drags to a point where the audience already knows the actress got the dibs on the actor. The actors are doing their job, and fail to make the audience invest in the story. It has more to do with the character writing so pretentious, full of themselves you wouldn’t care. The film is shot well. It has beautiful shots of the city. Untogether is a boring romantic drama that seems incomplete with no conclusion.

What's there?

  • The acting performances are good despite the underwritten characters.
  • The cinematography of the film is stunning

What's not there?

  • You wouldn’t care for the characters
  • The film is not engaging
  • The film seems incomplete

Verdict

Untogether is a bland romantic drama that wanted to be deep and meaningful but failed. You can watch it once for the acting performances.
