Plot: Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity, and Pink Pie are getting ready to perform with their new band, The Rainbooms for a musical showcase, hosted by the Canterlot high school. There arrives a new girl group, The Dazzlings, who demanded that the friendly musical showcase should be converted to a battle of bands. Tension increases between these groups as the showcase nears. Meanwhile, the reformed Sunset Shimmer gets to know that these Dazzlings are up to something more, more than the title of the Best Band, something ominous or sinister.
Princess Twilight’s help is now sought by The Rainbooms, who desperately wanted a unique musical piece, which could take them home. So, does the princess help "The Rainbooms" in making their counter musical piece? Do The Rainbooms sail past The Dazzlings? Watch the movie to find out.
Positives: This movie is much better than the previous version of the series, especially due to its humor, plot, soundtrack and mainly, due to its much better animation. The way in which the story progresses, or better, the screenplay, it’s also fantastic. With the story, it must be accepted that, everyone who watches it, takes back a lesson, whether a kid or an adult. The one sure thing that makes this movie stand out is the music. Hats off to Daniel Ingram for composing such an elegant piece.
Negatives: This movie is surely on the positive side. But still, one thing that makes this movie wobbly is the mindset of the director. This movie, whose target audience is primarily young girls, are not focussed properly upon. The plot is complex enough for the kids to walk away from the movie. For adults, it's perfectly fine.
Verdict: My Little Pony: Equestria Girls – Rainbow Rock sets the standard for the children movies. Exceptional characters, unique villains, proper pacing, funny humor, and finally, outstanding soundtrack, makes this, a must watch one, not only for young girls but surely from all ages.
