The Canadian-American flick My Little Pony: Equestria Girls is a 2013 movie. The movie is an animation and is a musical comedy. The screenplay for the movie is by Meghan McCarthy. Jayson Thiessen directed the movie. The movie saw a limited theatrical release in the US and Canada.
Plot: Twilight Sparkle, a princess in Equestria, is taking efforts to manage her new position as princess and is trying to adjust herself to the wings that have sprouted. There is a twist in the movie as a traitor robs her magic crown and jumps the border to another world. Now, Twilight is vested with the responsibility of retrieving the stolen crown. Along with her companion Spike, the princess jumps through the magic mirror into an alternately existing cosmos. But, in the alternate universe, she is just a human. It is a high-school world filled with her friends turned into human adolescents. Twilight has to protect the worlds from peril. Twilight has to reestablish friendship that would change everything forever.
The directors of the movie have performed the gimmick of changing ponies into human adolescents. The plot has the high school as the background. The theme of the movie sticks to the motto 'Friendship is Magic.' Friendship, moral qualities, and management skills are the lessons taught through the movie. Everything is different in the high school, and the poor Pony has to behave like a human. It is the difficulty even we as humans face in high school. The movie could transcend the present high-school culture. The ponies in the movies are back to existence as humans. The humans include toddlers and teenagers. The movie could be viewed by children of any age. There are some sensitive scenes in the movie. For instance, Twilight has an infatuation for Flash. In the climax, the villain turns into an evil creature with wings.
Verdict:Â My Little Pony: Equestria Girls is a must-watch movie for parents and children alike.
