Plot:
Corinne Walker is the pivot around which the story is woven. It emphasizes on the faith of Corinne on Jesus over the course of her lifetime. Even though she had been raised in a surrounding full of faith in god, she had always been skeptical about his existence. This was after her parents separated. As a teenager, she fell in love with Ethan Miller. They got married after having a baby girl, Abigail. In an accident when their daughter was saved, Corinne and Ethan began having more faith in the existence of God.
Over the course of time they began living with their 2 daughters in a society where everyone had delved deep into Jesus. One day her younger sister, Wendy comes to visit her after yet another breakup. Corinne and Ethan find out that Wendy has been on cocaine for long and has developed a brain tumor. In spite of their entire community praying for Wendy, although she survived a risky operation, she eventually dies. Prayers did not work for her sister. Will this make Corinne question God once again? How is she impacted by this incident? To find answers to these questions, do watch the movie.
Analysis:
The movie is one of the most delicately handled religious movie in a long time now. The simplicity in the life of a commoner and the complexities of her faith in Jesus are well portrayed without any overlap. The best part about the movie is its plot over a span of life and nor merely an incident.Â
Verdict:
The movie comes out as sensitive one with hints of comedy. Not the one which comes in and goes out of the mind with its duration. Even though the movie ends, Corinne’s journey with her faith stays with the audience for long. A movie worth watching, only if you want your heart to be touched.
