Plot

The British intelligent force has found out two notorious terrorists in Kenya and is planning to perform a drone strike so that the killing becomes easy and effective. But what about the innocent Kenyans' lives that may be at stake? And to aggravate the situation, the terrorists have planned a big attack in a public background.

Drone technology has been by and large considered as the standard in warfares nowadays. What is the moral price of warfare? What repercussion does it have on the guilt-struck soldiers? Is morality still intact with the booming of drone technology? What is it that actually runs in the minds of those while carrying the attack?

Analysis

Gavin Hood, the South African director, has directed Eye in the Sky. His previous two films Ender Games and X-Mens Origins: Wolverine didn’t do well, and it seems Hood has learnt a lesson or two. He has astutely worked on Eye in the Sky.

What’s there?

The narrative is intriguing, and the star cast adds value to the movie.
Guy Hibbert, the writer, has woven a gripping story.
The characters are etched in a commendable manner.
Though the movie deals with terror and war, it has its beautiful share of comedy too.
In spite of its tense subject, Eye in the Sky is thoroughly entertaining.
The mental agony that the drone pilots experience is commendably shown in the movie.

What’s not there?

The painstaking conversations between the military people and government may not strike the right chord with some.

This is not your typical war film. However, it has its great unique moments.
