PLOT: In 1913, Anna Mouglalis Born in France to a Greek father and a mother of F >> Read More... attended a concert, 'The Rite of Spring,' conducted by Mads Mikkelsen Mads Mikkelsen is an eminent Danish actor. He was >> Read More... . This sparked an outrage among the audience due to its scandalous elements. But Anna got impressed by him. After seven years, Mads leaves for France, due to the Russian revolution. There he meets Anna, who was worrying about her lover's demise. This sparked to an attraction due to sympathy between the duo. Anna offers her villa for Mads to stay with his ailing wife and kids. Eventually, they develop an affair, which Mads wife does not accept. So, Mads's wife struggles with Mads and Anna. They end their affair very soon. But this happened to be an important event in their life. Chanel released a perfume, whereas Mads made the same concert, which he did years back, into a successful event.

ANALYSIS: The movie starts at a brisk and a brilliant pace. Unfortunately, it does not last long till the end. Since the director concentrated more on the novel, rather than the real historical events, he fills the story with other elements as well. He succeeded in bringing out the emotions through the movie but failed with his casts and characters. This is praised as a different attempt in filmmaking and the real cinema.

STAR PERFORMANCE: Anna plays the role of Coco Chanel. She exhibits a stern reaction throughout the movie. Her cold performance turns into a dull toil. She was not much impressed. Mads looked irritated and bad-tempered throughout the movie. Elena Morozova Elena Morozova is a Russian actress born on May 15 >> Read More... depicts the sick Katrina's role. Though she did a supporting role, she looked quite impressive than the protagonists.

WHAT'S THERE? The locations were beautiful and impressive. The villa outside France, where they all together reside, is a magnificent building. A black and white building amidst a forest is very beautiful. The costumes designed for the protagonists were brilliant. WHAT'S NOT THERE? This is a movie only for people who have an interest in art films. This movie lacks the commercial aspects. VERDICT: A mere escape from the down line with all the credits to the director.
