Plot: So the movie goes something like this, In Smithville, Texas, three teenagers Brian, Abby, Travis, and Danny, who are classmates of best friends. One day, they decide to do something daring and investigate the house of the mortician Ely Vaughn that rumored to be haunted by ghosts. They witness shadows in the upper window, and they break into that ghostly house to see what is going in there and they see a dead body lying on the bed; however, they are surprised to see Ely, who kills Danny by pushing him off the staircase. Nobody believes in these teenagers because Ely is a well respectable citizen, but Travis and Abby decide to prove that the Ely is a psychopath. The story lacks in exposition and causes some annoyance as the film moves further. Why to wait till the end and show so much of explanation in an unnatural manner, which takes away all the twist at the end.
The twist should be given a top notch importance; it should be like a penny that drops to connect all the threads together. The best part of the film is the young cast.
The four friends are amazing together, very trustable as friends. The lead, Travis, is commendable and reminds of a young Christopher Gorham from Harpers Island. This great little film is pleasantly surprising; it is thrilling, mysterious and at the same time classy. There is nothing much interesting here but nothing terrible either.
Verdict: So, one can afford to watch it at least once.
