It is a movie that marked the arrival of Iranian cinema on the world stage. The movie is a winner of Academy Award for best foreign language movie, Golden Bear at Berlin, Asian film award in multiple categories, New York Film Circle Award, Asia Pacific Film Award, and many more. These accolades heaped on the movie in the year 2011 and 2012.
Also, it is one of the very few movies to get a 99% on rotten tomatoes site as well. So coming to the story, it’s a drama genre movie based on the background of a couple’s clash to find a forward thinking country to educate further and better the life prospects for their daughter. The movie opens with the courtroom scene of a couple appearing for divorce, to end their 14 years of marriage.
