Plot
The movie revolves around a girl named Scarlett Marlowe (Predita Weeks). She is a young professor at the University of London who continues her father’s research work for the philosopher stone. She goes to Iran and finds a ‘Rose key’ and then she travels to Paris where she takes the help of her ex-boyfriend Goerge (Ben Feldman). She then goes 370 underneath the streets of Paris along with cameraman benji, guide Papillon and his girlfriend to locate the condition of stone. Later, they find a catacomb where they lose their way. And her team meets with La Taupe; he agrees to guide them under Paris. After that, they encounter several ghosts, lake of blood, the gate of hell and other things which create problems in their way out.
And the rest is how they come out.
Star Performances
Perdita Weeks did well in first half of the film, but in the second half of the film, it looks like she too lost his interest in the film. Ben Feldman is alright; he does his work properly. All other actors are average, and they didn’t leave any impact.
Analysis
The direction the film is very bad, director John Erick Dowdle completely fails in narrating the story. After the first thirty minute, it feels like the director himself loses the interest in the film. The shaky camera work will blow the heads, and you will get the headache.
What’s there?
1. The plot of the film was good but not properly executed.
2. Some of the scenes were really scary.
3. Background music is awesome.
What’s not there?
1. Worst camera work, full of shaky camera scenes.
2. Weak direction with lots of unrelated scenes.
3. Childish screen play.
Verdict
This is horribly horror film which will provide you a headache. But if you like to see some horror scenes then watch it.
