PLOT
Jack McCall (Eddie Murphy), a fast-talking literary agent, makes book deals by gabbing. He also exaggerates the truth for making deals. This comes to an end when he closes a deal with self-help guru named Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis).
One day, he finds a Bodhi tree in his backyard and realizes that his life depends on the tree. Hence, with every leaf that falls from the tree, Jack becomes closer to death. He now seeks help from Dr. Sinja, who knows of his deceit. Dr. Sinja alerts him by telling that he has a thousand words with him.
Thus, Jack must choose his words carefully when he speaks and also when he writes. A turn of events takes place when his wife Caroline McCall (

Featuring Eddie Murphy could have been the best choice only if his voice- his main comedic asset was not removed.

Eddie Murphy’s performance seemed so disingenuous and forced that even his acting did not uplift the mood of the audiences. In fact, the movie faced severe negative reviews such that Eddie Murphy was nominated as the worst actor for the movie. The movie curtailed his star abilities as a physical comedian.
