Software professional Swathi was murdered by an unidentified person the last 24th. Actor Y G Mahendra had made a controversial statement with regard to the issue. Following the comment, objections arose from various quarters. Police protection was provided to Y Gee Mahendran’s residence at Thyagaraya Nagar. Y Gee Mahendran had shared a post which had come to this Facebook page.
Following the objections, Y Gee Mahendran apologized in this Facebook site. But still, the objections continued. Also the Indian National League announced that they are to stage protest in front of the Nadigar Sangam. In a development, since Y Gee Mahendran had apologized, the protest had been withdrawn. This has been confirmed by the head of the Indian National League.
In his apology Y Gee Mahendran said that he had already apologized in Facebook. Also, he added that the comment in Facebook happened inadvertently. He apologized to the Muslims for the inadvertent mistake. Also, he greeted the Muslims on the eve of Ramzan.
The Indian National League said that it has withdrawn the complaint against Y Gee Mahendran. But, at the same time the Indian National League said that it cannot withdraw the complaint against Y Gee Mahendran.
