Ration Shop workers have announced a strike on 6th August. They say that they had been requesting the Tamilnadu government to fulfill their requisitions. From February, they had been protesting with a lot of requisitions. They even hosted a protest on 24th February and nearly 10, 000 workers participated in the Chennai protest. They had decided to go for a strike on 6th August and the decision had been taken on 6th July. The government didn’t lend its ears to the basic requisition of the ration shop employees, say the employees’ association. They request the public to support them. No ration shops will be opened on 6th August and no POS will work on that day, announced the associations.
