Why Keerthy Suresh Replaced Samantha?

Hope you all know that it was Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was initially chosen to play “Savitri” in her bilingual biopic, “Mahanati” / Nadigayar Thilagam. The director Nag Ashwin felt that instead of the well-known face Samantha, it would be better if the role is played by a less known face. As Keerthy Suresh has just played a couple of films in Telugu, Nag Ashwin chose Keerthy to play the lead role. Samantha plays the role of “Jamuna” and the story will be narrated from her perspective. Dulquer Salmaan plays Gemini Ganesan and it is the debut film for DQ in Telugu. It is to be noted that the film will be dubbed and released in Malayalam too. Vyjayanthi Movies produce the film and the film will hit the screens on 29th March 2018. Prakash Raj plays Aluri Chakrapani and Mohan Babu plays “S V Ranga Rao.” Arjun Reddy fame pair Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey are also in the cast.
