Sachein Mints Gold With Re-release

While his normal releases may not be hitting the jackpot, ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay definitely strikes the chord with his re-releases.

A few days ago, one of his classic movies Sachein re-released in the cinema halls. The re-release brought unexpected success for the makers, earning more than 5 crore rupees in the re-run.

This is not the first time that a re-release has hit jackpot in the case of ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay. Last year, Ghilli had re-released on the occasion of its 20^th anniversary. The movie was so successful, that it earned a whopping 32 crores, the highest for any re-release in India, until the Bollywood movie Sanam Teri Kasam broke the record on its re-release, with a revenue off nearly 50 crores on its re-release.

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay has been suffering a rough patch since 2022 in terms of box office revenue. With the lone exception of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s LEO, none of his films have managed to recover their revenue at their box office, not even his previous venture GOAT : The Greatest of All Time!
