Pon Manickavel
, who was the Tamilnadu idol wing chief, had to retire today from the post. Manickavel stated that even if he were not given the remuneration, he would be doing his duty if the permission is granted. To his surprise, the Madras High court ordered Pon Manickavel to continue his duty as the Special Idol Wing Chief. He had been in this section from 2012. When the cops consider it as a punishment, people like Pon Manickavel took it as a challenge and had found out 1000s of trafficked idols. Under his captaincy, huge crores worth icons are found out and restored in its places. Today, the Court appointed Pon Manickavel as the Special Officer and has ordered that he has to report the idol theft case procedures directly to the court. This is the second time, the court expressed its trust in Pon Manickavel. So, the case that had been transferred to the CBI will be directed to Pon Manickavel and he will continue his duty.
