How Was The First Half Of 2018 In Kollywood?

The first half of 2018 went on well for some films and average for some and utter flop for some. The highly expected Thaana Serndha Koottam of Suriya Sivakumar and “Sketch” by Chiyaan Vikram, didn’t satisfy the audiences. In fact, it is the dubbed films that satisfied the audiences to a great extent including, “Bhaagamathie” by Anushka Shetty, Nadigaiyar Thilagam by Keerthy Suresh and Bharat Ennum Naan by Mahesh Babu. Kaala Karikalan by “Rajinikanth” received a mixed response. Vikram Prabhu starrer "Pakka" was the only movie that was criticized badly by almost all the people, who watched it. It received the comment, "Very Amateurish!" Due to the shutdown by Tamilnadu Film Producers Council, a lot of films were affected. Many films were delayed to shoot and some films were unable to continue their shooting. Only three films managed to collect a good amount at the box office and ended in profit; they are Irumbu Thirai, Iruttu Arayil Murattu Kuththu and Tik Tik Tik. Similarly, the Hollywood films, Avengers Infinity War and the Black Panthers collected well at the Tamilnadu Box office.
