When asked about “Bigil” and Kaithi releasing on the same date, Lokesh Kanagaraj told that director’s duty is to complete a movie and give it to the producer and it is the producer who decides when to release the movie. So he didn't interfere in Kaithi release, stated Lokesh. But, he stated that as Kaithi will be releasing in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously, the makers might have wanted to release it for Diwali.
