India was supposed to send Chandrayan 2 to the moon at 2:51 am today. But, the countdown has stopped temporarily. The satellite was about to start its journey from Satish Dhawan satellite launching station at Sri Harikotta. The 20-hour countdown started yesterday. It was about to get launched via Mark III, which is nicknamed as Baahubali. It is said that due to some technical snag, the launch is stopped. The technical issue was noticed just an hour before the launch, say the reports.
The next launch date will be announced after clearing the issues. The spacecraft weighed 3850 kg and it has three components including Orbiter, lander and rover. The budget for the Chandrayan 2 mission is Rs 978 crores.
