In 2008, Kamal portrayed the character of Balram Naidu in the Tamil film Dasavantharam. It is a comedy with an ounce of action in it. It was late choreographer Raghuram who played the character of Appa Rao in Dasavantharam. Raaj Kamal International is said to be producing the film. The title for the Tamil version will be unveiled officially on Friday by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. He has been chosen to compose the music for this untitled film.
