Despite being a top-grosser, the Premam team has faced a lot of hardships along their journey such as piracy issue, film fraternity and media and more. They were also blamed for the criminal activities that happened in the students of Kerala. Famous directors, political leaders, the media and officials have stated that the film misleading to the student and youth.
However, despite of the many controversies that the film has faced, they still managed to steal the hearts of the many viewers and became a trend setter. It is undoubtedly the most discussed and most loved movie in the Malayalam film industry.
