1. Bhuvan Shome

She supports him to hunt birds. She takes care of him. She helps and teaches him how to hunt. He was earlier considered an angry man by his colleagues. But when he returns from Gujarat to his work, he becomes changed.

3. Calcutta 71

The film Calcutta 71 is about the four stories that comprise the collection of short stories. Each focus on a different part of society. In the first story, a family from the lower middle class in a slum is forced to leave their cottage and go to another safe place. In the second story, a middle-class family has low food and hardship. This makes them go into prostitution. The third story is about a middle-class family. They are from the village. Here the eldest son leaves his studies. He makes fun of the rich people. He steals rice. The fourth story shows Kolkata's upper-class culture. They talk continuously. They do not meet ordinary people. A boy breaks a statue because he is unemployed. He is angry. In this last story, the police follow him. They catch and then kill him.

4. Mrigayaa

The film Mrigayaa is based on a story, Shikaar, written by Bhagbati Charan Panigrahi. The film is set in the 1930s. A group of tribal people lives in a small village in Orissa. The animals there ruin their crops. Many moneylenders are greedy and corrupt policemen. They create problems in their livelihood. One day, a British officer is posted in the village. He loves to hunt. He becomes friends with Ghinua. He is a local tribal man. He is a good archer. They challenge each other. For this, Ghinua would be rewarded.

5. Akaler Sandhane

The film Akaler Sandhane is about famine. In a village, five million Bengalis were killed in 1943. In 1980, a group of people from the film industry came to visit the village. They plan to shoot a film based on his famine. They would show how many people died from starvation. The film shows the problems of making the film among the members due to the location. The villagers now get disturbed by the team. They are suspicious of them. They gradually start facing a disturbing situation.

6. Mahaprithibi

His friend sells opium. He refuses to join his friend, as he is an honest man. Basanti is the wife of a lawyer. She is involved in a nationalist political group. He has a sisterly affection towards her. One day, she gets arrested and is in jail. To save her, he gets involved with her group. Now he has become a man involved in politics. When he returned to China, he joined the resistance movement of 1931 against the Japanese invasion, when they invaded China.
