The Nightingale of South Indian Cinema Kousalya was born on 8th August in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Her symphonic voice has not only helped her become an amazing singer, but she is also a dubbing artist. When she became an experienced singer, she started to compose music. She has worked with the very famous musician of South Indian Cinema, M.M. Keervani. She was accepted as a composer and even got a chance to work with Koti and Chakri, who are renowned in this field of composing music. She went to St. Joseph’s School in Nagarjuna Sagar, and did her graduation in music from Guntur Women’s College. After her graduation, she even received a PF in classical music from Sri Padmavathi University. Her sweet voice was loved by all, and so she was offered to dubb heroine Kalyani’s and Yashika’s voice for the movies ‘Sravanamasam’ and ‘ Bakara Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ respectively. She is so experienced and talented that she has sung more than four hundred songs for Telegu, Tamil and Kannada films. She was nominated for the best playback singer in the Telegu Filmfare Awards. She won the prestigious Nandi Award as best singer for own composition on ETV Adele Adharam. She married her childhood friend Subramanyam and had a 12-year-old son. Things were perfect for the couple, but slowly things started getting worse, and Kousalya had to face domestic violence. She approached Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar Police and filed a case against her husband. She was also harassed for not completing the dowry requirements, and that case is still pending in the court.
