Munna Kasi

With numerous titles under his name: actor, music director, composer, writer, and singer, to name a few, Venkata Surya Narayana or simply known as Munna Kasi, was born on 16th August 1985, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. A diligent student with Business Administration as his major paper, Kasi completed his master’s as a gold medallist from Dr. N.S. Kolla School of Business in Visakhapatnam. As a child, Munna Kasi was already into music, but it wasn’t much later that he fully invested his future in this profession. An avid fan of one of the most influential figures in the Indian music scene, Illaiyaraaja, Munna Kasi sought inspiration from his compositions and dreamt of working in the music industry.

But the reality was not as agreeing nor harmonious. Kasi moved to Dubai after finishing his master’s for a job. However, he could not let go of his passion and love for music, so he left his job and ventured into the music scene as a radio jockey and as a music composer for international jingles at a radio station. He went on to participate and lend his musical talents to several other films such as Ammaa Nanna Oerelithe (2014), ‘Chitram Cheppina Kapa’ (2015), ‘ Mama O Chandamama Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (2017), and ‘ Heza Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ (2019). Out of all his projects, ‘Heza’ can be regarded as his most notable work. In this horror-themed thriller movie, Munna Kasi takes on the role of the lead actor, director, and, simultaneously music director. This movie marked his debut as a director in the film industry.
