Sriramana was a famous screenwriter, columnist, storyteller, cum satirical essayist who worked in the Telugu industry. He was born Vankamamidi Radhakrishna on 21st September 1952 in Varahapuram in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. His parents are Vankamamidi Subbarao and Vankamamidi Anasuya. Sriramana had an elder brother and sister. He was married to Janaki and had two children, Chaitra and Vamsikrishna. He completed his schooling at Kaviraja Zilla Parishad High School, Vemuru. He graduated from Bapatla College of Arts and Sciences. He was adopted by his grandfather, and his name was changed to Kamaraju Rama Rao. However, he changed his name to Sriramana. He used Akshara Thuneeram as his pen name while working for Sakshi magazine. He also wrote for Navya, a weekly magazine.

Sriramana passed away due to illness on 19th July 2023 in Hyderabad.
