Dil Raju was bon in Narsingpally, Nizamabad District, Andhra Pradesh, India (Now Telangana). He lives in Hyderabad (Telangana, India). Dil Raju is a Producer and Distributer. Dil Raju is considered as a Man with Midas Touch in the Tollywood film industry. At the beginning of his career, he failed as a distributor but, got his best shot with hits like Arya and Bommarillu.
He was interested in films since his schooling at Mudakpally, (3km from Nizamabad), then shifted to Hyderabad during the intermediate. He started working in the automobile business ventured by his brothers at RP Road. Incidentally, RP Road is famous for film distribution offices and lead him to his favorite field of films and the film industry. Chiranjeevi Films Stint: Mahendra Reddy started a new distribution office called Lakshmi Venkateshwara Films in 1994.
He and his brothers became the shareholders to this profit. Reddy knew the producer K
Devi Prasad and went for Nizam rights of Alluda Makaza Film. Since Allu Arvind was the distributor of Nizam, Raju, and his team got the Vizag Rights. With this, they released the film Alluda Makaza, which earned good profits. Puttinilla Mettinilla was the first one in Nizam area. They bought Chiranjeevi’s Big Boss, but turned out to be a disaster and then, they quitted the show.
He still wanted to be a part of distribution process after incurring a loss and resolved to open a new office as Sri Harsha Films in 1996. At that time,
Sai Prakash granted consecutive hits as he was directing Amma Nana Cavalli. He approached him as a distributor, but the film flopped miserably, leading to a loss of one crore even after films like Arundhati and Priyamaina Sreevaru. He looked forward to closing the shop and led the automobile industry again.
Not following the distribution process anymore, he still got convinced by Costumes Krishna to be a part of the distribution of
Pelli Pandiri, leaving his brothers behind. Being a risk taker, he still followed the lead by joining hands with MS Reddy and became one of the biggest hits at the
Box Office, earning around 1.8 crores, followed by Oke Okkadu, Nuvvu Vasthavani, and Sakhi which lead to almost 90% success rate of his firm. He started working as a film distributor with Amruta, with Madhavan and Simran as the lead. It happened to be a disaster after release.
But the successful producer,
Mani Ratnam, exclaimed to him of becoming a ‘Good Producer’ as he accepted the criticism of the movie with “A SMILE”. Arya was a film for which Prabhas was initially approached, but he didn’t like the film at all. Then he saw the potential of the story in the body language of
Allu Arjun. When the script of Arya was narrated to him, he found it to be very interesting and was lead by a huge hit.
During the shooting of Arya, Bhaskar the director of Bommarillu, was in the shot division. He narrated him the penned script of Bommarillu, which was a very tough job to be showed on screen. The movie turned out to be a “Silver Jubilee” for him. Immersing himself to the love of cinema he argues: “Story and hard work makes me a great sense. Even during positive time, I don’t mind re-shooting if any modification is needed.”
