Dasari Padma is a popular and successful figure in the Tollywood film industry of India. She was a political leader, a producer, a wife, a mother and above all a loved and a respected person of the society. Dasari Padma hails from Sathupalli in the Khammam district from Chennai. Coming from a middle-class family, she was not raised like a common and ordinary girl. Rather, her father who was a freedom fighter and a teacher by profession in the Khammam district taught Dasari Padma how to be brave and aggressive. Her father was always telling her to shout at a person first, be rude to that person and then speak softly. Dasari Padma’s guardian had very different way of approaching life considering that he was a freedom fighter. He made Dasari Padma grew into a very resilient and stiff woman while still inculcating all values, morals and respect in her.

Dasari Padma who was always buying bangle noticed the struggle between them. She then approached him and helped him. This short meeting bloomed their love story, and they started meeting frequently, and at the end, love happened between them. After some years, Dasari Padma gave birth to a son and years later a daughter. Dasari Padma has faced lots of struggles before becoming a successful producer and Congress leader. She first started by helping her husband in his films, while he used to direct them, she was the producer. After the success of Manavudu, she gained confidence and perceived more in the industry. Their second success was Meghasandesam movie whereby she got nine awards. While climbing the success ladder, Dasari Padma offered her contribution to the society. She became the president of the Madras women Congress and the vice president of Tamil Nadu Women Congress. She later worked with Kamaraj Nadar and Tangabalu.

Dasari Padma decided to represent the marginalized and poor people of the society. She thus built the Madra Film Driver Association and gave the poor people jobs as drivers to feed their family. Dasari Padma who was sick for some time and went into coma passed away on the twenty-fifth of October 2011 at Somajiguda Hospital in Hyderabad at the age of sixty-five. Her last rites were performed at the family house, near to Chevelle which is adjoining to the Ranga Reddy District. Many eminent people such as the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy came to give their condolences to her family.
