Born on the 26th of May 1956, in Nagayalanka, Mandali Buddha Prasad is a Telugu politician and the former Deputy Speaker of Andhra Pradesh. The Avanigadda Constituency of Krishna District elected him as an Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly member. This interest led to his extensive political career- lasting for three terms 1999, 2004 and 2014. In the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cabinet, he was a minister. Additionally, he presided over the AP Official Language Commission. As a cabinet minister, he has developed several creative programmes, such as "Matsya Kranti," which benefits female fisheries workers, and "Pashukranthi," to help poor people and small farmers with hybrid animals on subsidy rates. He founded three super-speciality veterinary hospitals, one in each of Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Pulivendula, and an advanced research centre of animal husbandry with international standards.
Thanks to him, there is now a Fisheries Polytechnic College in the Krishna District's Bhavadevarapally. He has also participated in and led seminars and conferences at both national and international levels in Mauritius, the United States, the United Kingdom, and other nations. His affection and allegiance to the Telugu cultural and linguistic heritage and his unwavering dedication to advocating the growth and well-being of Telugu people around the globe have benefitted countless people. Besides being a loved politician, Mr Prasad is also a writer, having contributed several articles on contemporary issues, the Telugu language and culture to many leading newspapers and magazines. A few of his publications are Mauritius lo Telugu Teja, Prajalu - Pragathi, England lo Telugu Vaibhava Smruthulu.
