is an Indian music director, composer, and lyricist known for his works in Hindi and Marathi films. He graduated from the Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) in Pune, Maharashtra. He has been directing music for over a decade as one half of the duo Avinash-Vishwajeet, the other being his friend, Avinash Chandrachood.
The duo made its debut by scoring the background music for Girish Mohite’s Marathi comedy-drama “Tula Shikvin Changlach Dhada” (2007). They soon had the opportunity to work as music directors in “Aaicha Gondhal” (2008), directed by Sangeeta Pulaskar. Gradually gaining ground, their careers took a giant leap after they contributed to the first installment of the trilogy “Mumbai – Pune – Mumbai” (2010).
The movie was a critical success and remade in Hindi, Kannada, Punjabi and Telugu languages under different titles. Avinash and Vishwajeet were showered with praise for their score, especially for the direction of the song ‘Ka Kalena,’ sung by
and Bela Shende.
They later cracked their way into Bollywood with Rohan Sippy’s romantic comedy “Bluffmaster” (2012), starring
. In the first four years of their career, the music directors had compiled pieces for six movies but after Bluffmaster, they did seven in a single year and almost tripled it to twenty 2012 onwards. Their most notable magnum opuses include “Bharatiya” (2012), “Premachi Goshta” (2013), “Sanngto Aika…!” (2014), “Ishq Waala Love” (2014), “Ti Saddhya Kay Karte” (2016) and “Readymix” (2019).
