She hails from Palakol, West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. She was from a very big family. She was twelfth child among thirteen siblings in her family. She unexpectedly came into acting field. She wanted to be a classical dancer. She learnt classical dance at ‘Chinna satyam’ in Chennai.

She was the most famous Television actor. Her sister ‘’ is also a famous Telugu actress.

She started her career as a child artist in Doordarshan. She was approached by her relative and she agreed to play the role of her daughter in the serial.

Later she got chances from TV serial producers like Kanakala Devadas, Pradeep, Rajiv bujji and Prabhu etc. She got one after another in a row. She acted in lead roles, supporting character, comedian and she he was very good at sentimental roles. Later she also acted as comedian in most of her serials.

She acted in 490 Television serials. She was awarded Nandi Award consecutively for three years as Best Comedian. She started her comedy career through a famous comedy serial ‘’ on Gemini in which she acted for six years. She got many awards as best comedian from ‘Delhi Telugu academy’, ‘’ etc. for her role in the serial. She later acted in another comedy serial ‘Naana’ and continued her career as a comedian in TV serials. She almost acted with every production on Television. Her other serials are like ‘indrani’ etc. She gave appearance on every Telugu channel.

She also acted in 160 Telugu films. She wanted to become a star on silver screen also. She acted in small roles in movies like ‘Pellichesukndam’, ‘Pavitra bandham’. Her favourite movie was ‘oosi na maradala’. She was presently working as supporting actress in films.

She recently appeared in movies like ‘Julayi (a super hit Allu Arjun film)’.
