Raasi, also known as Mantra Raasi is a South Indian film actress who was born in India. She has acted in several movies in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada movies. She was born on 29 July 1980 to D.Venkatesh and Nagamani. She initially appeared as a child artist and was first seen on screen in the year 1988 for the Telugu movie ‘Raogaari illu’. In the same year, she acted in a Malayalam movie as well named ‘Kakkothikkavile Appooppan Thaadikal’. Her first movie in Hindi was ‘Grafthar’. She made her debut in Tamil with the movie ‘
’ which was not a big hit. Hence she changed her name from Mantra to Raasi and entered Tollywood with her Telugu debut ‘Shubhakankshalu’ with Jagapathi Babu as the Hero. This movie was very successful and she received good reviews for her performance in the movie. After the success of this movie, she started getting a lot of offers from other directors and she acted in other successful movies like ‘Gokulam lo Seetha’, Preyasi Raave’, Snehithulu, etc.

She also runs a school for small kids and got in to a controversy as one of the actors,
accused her of being irresponsible. He had mentioned that his son who studies in Raasi’s school had returned home with scratches and wounds and he wanted the school to be closed. However Raasi maintained that it was a result of a fight between the children in the bus and also that the actor’s wife had spoken very rudely in this matter. She also mentioned that there were 70 other children in the school and none of the other parents had complained in this regard.
