Mudigonda Lingamurthy was one of the legendary actors of the Telugu cinema industry. He was born in the year 1908 in Tenali. He was an actor as well as a good writer. He acted in the drama in his initial stages and shifted to the cinema, after the development of cinema in India. Sthanam Narashima Rao joined Mudigonda Lingamurthy to the drama troupe called Rama Vilasa Sabha. Kanyasulkam was the drama that made Mudigonda Lingamurthy very popular among the Telugu people. Chitoor V. Nagayya and Mudigonda Lingamurthy entered the film industry at the same time through Tukaram in the year 1937. He ventured with Vahini Pictures and acted in many films in the time span of 7 years. Bhakta Potana, Swarga Seema, Yogi Vemana and Peddamanushalu were the hit films by Vahini Pictures and Mudigonda Lingamurthy. As he is the close acquaintance of Naggaya, they both give the hit films together. Some of the hit movies by them are Ramadasu, Tyagaaya and Naa Illu. Thyagam is one of the popular playlets by Mudigonda Lingamurthy. He was married and survived by four sons, namely Prabhakar, Chandrasekar, Thyagaraju and Sivashankar and a daughter. After a few years of the death of his wife, Mudigonda Lingamurthy left the world peacefully in the year 1980.
