Mukku Raju was a popular choreographer cum actor in Andhra cinema. While entering the cinema field, he has no idea about acting. His only aim was to gain success in the choreography field, which is well known to him. He was born as Saagiraju Rajamraju in Cherukuwada in Madras Presidency. He has choreographed almost all the popular stars in south Indian cinema. Even the legendary actors such as
and N. T. Ramarao had danced under his dance direction. He was seen in most of the films by the director R. Narayana Murthy. Mukku Raju has performed in thousand plus movies and got a strong place in the hearts of the people of Andhra Pradesh. Ore Rickshaw, Mayuri, Erra Sainyam, Cheemala Dandu and 1940 Lo Okka Gramam, are his popular movies. Mayuri was the super hit movie in the year 1984, which was led by
and is said to be the true story. He was provided with the Nandi Award for his best acting performance in the film 1940 Lo Okka Gramam. Mukku Raju has rendered his service to the Telugu cinema till his last breathe. He died in the year 2014 at the age of 83. He was survived by three children.
