On June 21, 2010, Kota Prasad met with a road accident and died due to severe injury. He was riding his 1000cc sports bike in Hyderabad, followed by his wife and other members in a car. They were proceeding towards one of the luxurious hotels of the city when a van appeared in the intersection of the road, seeing which Kota Prasad applied the brakes, due to which the bike skidded.
