Jaggayya was a popular Telugu actor who has acted in varieties of roles in Telugu films. He was born in the year 1926 in Madras Presidency. He was from a rich family and at the age of 11, he started his career as an actor. He enacted in Hindi plays too. He took part in the independence struggle and enacted many stage plays during that period. His voice was so strong and hence the Telugu people called him as Kanchu Kantam Jaggayya. He worked as a journalist after his schooling. Jaggaya and NTR acted in many plays together during the 40s. Jaggayya was also a good painter and he got his training as a painter from the popular painter Adivi Bapiraju. He worked as a teacher and then a news anchor. was dubbed in his voice in many of the Telugu films, as both of their voices were strong and commanding. He also rendered his voice to the Telugu version of Jurassic Park, the international movie. He was also a producer and his film was screened at the Moscow International Film Festival in the year 1962. The film has the record of the first Telugu movie that was screened outside India. Jaggayya got Padma Bushan from Indian government, Kalaimamani from Tamilnadu Government and Nandi Award from Andhra Pradesh government.
