Bhaskara Batla

Born on June 5, 1974, Bhaskara Batla is a famous Indian lyricist. He works mainly in Telugu cinema. His career includes working in 125 films and penning down more than 390 songs. The lyricist is decorated with two Santoshan Film Awards in 2006 and 2008 for Bommarillu and Neninthe respectively, and one SIIMA Award in 2013 for Sir Osthara in Businessman. Bhaskara is born in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.

He along with his five siblings, used to reside in Rajahmundry, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh now Telangana. For his schooling, he went to Government High School for Boys, Rajahmundry. He has done his graduation in Telugu language at V.T. Degree College, Rajahmundry. The 42 year old lyricist got married on 13 August 1998 to Lalita who is a B.Sc. graduate from Warangal. They met in 1997 and it was a love marriage for them. The couple is blessed with two kids, Amanta and Samhita. Ravi Kumar’s maternal grandfather, Aravelli Rajagopalcharya built his interest in literature in his childhood. His continuous visits to Gouthami Library in Rajahmundry, triggered his desire to write poetry. After completing his graduation, Bhaskara offered his services to Eenadu, Hyderabad for 10 long years as a film journalist, which he later left for film industry.

Bhaskar’s journey as a lyricist started in 2000. Actor Tanikella Bharani and music director Chakri motivated him to be a lyricist. He extensively collaborated with director Puri Jagannath and music directors like Chakri and S. Tharman. His writing leaves an imperative impact on public. His lyrical genre comprise of melodies, mass and romantic. His first break was given by director E.V.V Satyanarayana for the movie, Goppinti Alludu.
