Veturi Sundararammurthy, commonly known as Veturi is a celebrated Telugu film lyricist. He was born on 29thJanuary, 1936, in Pedakallepalli, Mopidevi Mandal, Krishna District. He completed his graduation from Government Arts College, Madras, Intermediate, Bejawada. He has worked as Deputy Editor of Andhra Prabha magazine. He also worked as a journalist for sixteen years. He made his first film debut with a Sita story directed by K. Vishwanath. L. He has composed thousands of beautiful songs. AboutVeturi, the wild Rama and Shankarabharan instantly pop up in everyone’s mind.

Also,Sirisirimuvva, Sagarasangam, Saptapadi, Seethakochiluka, Muddamandaram, Sitara, Ektana, and Swathimuthyam are some beautiful and unique songs from these movies! He has written songs in various domains and proved his talents. He has written everything from traditional poetry to traditional songs. Sri Sri was later given to him the National Best Film Lyricist award for a Telugu film song. He received this award for the song RalipoePuvva Nike Ragalenduke that he penned for the movie MatruDeobhava. He has received fourteen awards.One National Award and eight Nandi Awards.

He wrote many songs like Manasa Veena Madhugeetham, OmkaranadanusandhanamauganameShankarabharanamu, Dorakunasuktiseva, ManasaShirasa Nee NaamePadedaEi Vela, Coconut Nama Dosti Eta Jasti Ra If Jabardasti Do Nasti Ra, Chee Cheepo Papa Oppulukuppa, and a lot more. He has written so many songs that all of them cannot be mentioned here. He published a book named Syrica Pool Small. It is a musical drama written for radio. He had also published KommaKommakoSannai. He was married to Sita Mahalakshmi and has three sons with her. He died on 22 May 2010 in Hyderabad due to a heart attack.
