S V Krishna Reddy

Born on June 1, 1961, in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh, Satti Venkata Krishna Reddy is an Indian movie director, an on-screen character, composer, producer and screenwriter, known for his work in Kollywood, Telugu cinema, and Bollywood.

He shifted to Hyderabad to seek his career in the film industry after graduating in Bheemavaram. Since childhood, Reddy watched motion pictures a lot. He began his vocation as an actor in the entertainment industry with the film named Pagadala Padava by U.V. Babuin 1979.

In 1986, he worked in a small role in the movie Kirathakudu directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy. Reddy uninterested in acting as a minor character, turned to direct films. With his friend Achi Reddy, He began a new banner named Manisha films.

Then in 1993, Reddy wrote the screenplay, directed it and also made music for the movie named Mayalodu under his company label featuring Soundarya and Rajendra Prasad. He worked on the Telugu film Number One as a screenplay and story writer, director and also gave music in 1994 starring Soundarya and Krishna.

Reddy directed 40 Telugu motion pictures such asSubhaLagnam in 1994, Ghatothkachudu in 1995, Maavichiguru in 1996, Aahvaanam in 1997, DeerghaSumangaliBhava in 1998, ManasuloMaata by 1999, Sri Srimathi Satyabhama by 2000, Athade Oka Sainyam by 2004 and many more.

He not only directed them but also gave music and wrote stories and screenplay for those movies. Reddy worked on the two Hindi films such as Taqdeerwala in 1995 as a story writer and Judaai in 1997 as a screenplay and story writer.

He also worked on the English romantic comedy motion picture named Divorce Invitation Click to look into! >> Read More... as a director and story writer in 2012, a remake of a Telugu film called Aahvaanam. In 1994, he got the Filmfare best director award for the movie named Shubhalagnam.

The movie also got the Nandi Award as the Best Feature Film. He earned the Nandi Special Jury Award for the motion picture Aahvaanam in the same year 1997. He received the Nandi Best Director Award for the Telugu film Sakutumba Saparivaara Sametham in 2001. Reddy is part of a Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA) and Directors Guild of America (DGA).
