C S Rao

Chittajallu Srinivasa Rao, also known as C. S. Rao was an actor, director, and writer in the Indian Cinema industry. He is the recipient of some awards at the national level. He nursed his ambitions from childhood itself and made his entry into the film industry in the childhood itself as a child actor in the movie “Anasuya (1936).” C. S. Rao was born in 1924 in Kakinada, India. He was the son of famous director Chittajallu Pullayya. Because he already had a filmy background, so he didn’t have to struggle hard to step inside the film industry. As a child actor, he worked in the movies “Sati Anasuya” and “Bhakta Dhruva” in 1936. As a professional actor and a screen adaptation, he made his entry in the film industry via “Pakkiniti Ammayi” in 1953 which was a Tamil movie directed by his father. It was a comedy movie produced by the East Indian Company. As a director, his first movie was “Ponni” in 1953. He directed movies in 4 different languages that are: Tamil, Oriya, Malayalam and Telugu. There was a time when famous directors Muktha V. Srinivasan and K. S. Sethu Madhavan were assistants to him. He has won two National Filmfare Awards for his films “Lava Kusa(1963),” which is an excerpt of the holy book of Hindus, The Ramayana that was written by Valmiki Maharshi. and “Desamante Manushuloyi(1970).”

His popular movies are: “Manchi Manasuku Manchi Rojulu (1958),”“Abhimanam (1960),” “Santinivasam (1960),”“Valmeeki (1963),”“Tiger Ramudu (1962),” “Kanchu Kota (1967),” “Sri and “Dhanamaa? Daivamaa? They had twin daughters later after. One of their daughters is a really talented dancer and lives in Chennai. He worked in about 70 movies and for about 3 decades with the industry. He has worked for many generations in his lifetime. Many famous actors and directors got to work with him.
