Ashwin Gangaraju

Ashwin Gangaraju is an Assistant Director, Writer, and Filmmaker based in Hyderabad, Telangana. He works in the Telugu film industry. He was born on 23 September 1987 in Hyderabad. He has studied MPC course (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) from Sri Chaitanya, Hyderabad. Later, he pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Nedurimalli Bala Krishna Reddy Institute of Science and Technology, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Since 2010, he has been working in the Telugu Film Industry.

Ashwin started working in 2010 as an Assistant Director with the legendary Telugu director, Mr. S.S Rajamouli. At that time, he assisted Rajamouli with his hit film Eega, released in 2017. The movie was based on a murdered man who was reincarnated as a housefly to seek revenge for his death. In 2021, Ashwin also tried his hand at writing and wrote the screenplay of Aakashavaani, released on 24 September 2021. It tells the story of a tribe living in a deep forest that is ruled by a powerful Zamindar who brainwashed the villagers into believing that they are not supposed to cross the village border. But, one day, the villagers found a radio which they believe as their new talking god. Besides filmmaking, Ashwin is highly skilled in Screenwriting, Direction, Writing, and Creative Writing.
