Dance Is Magical ,Dancer Is An Artist
Dance is an art form that uses the movement of body and expressions to convey to the viewers one's emotions and feelings. There are various dance forms that started off hundreds of years ago, in what seemed to be faraway lands then. But, with time, they have followed their way into many countries, like ours. Be it Ballet or Jazz, Hip-Hop or Contemporary and Bharatanatyam or Kuchipudi, we have all sorts of dancers in India. While there exist many different dance styles practiced all over the world, we have some dance forms that are indigenous to India, some classical and some folk dance.
Mohiniattam, Kathak, Odissi, and Kathakali are some examples of Indian Classical Dance. Each of these dance styles has a story or theme behind it like Kathakali depicts the fight between good and evil, and Mohiniattam describes how Lord Vishnu, disguised as Mohini, allured the Asuras. Besides these, there is the Filmi dance that everyone loves to do, copying the steps of the actors from the movie that performed them. A dancer is someone who uses body movements and gestures to portray a character or depict a story in front of an audience. It is usually performed to the melodies of a song or a music piece.
A dancer may be proficient in one or more dance forms. While dancing can be a hobby for some, there are several who fall in love with this art form and take it up as a profession, teaching dance to others as choreographers or dance teachers. Many even become background dancers in movies, or some lucky ones get their break in the industry as actors. Here are some of the Tollywood celebrities who have trained in some dance style and are terrific dancers.
