Rasool Ellore

Rasool Ellore is a cinematographer, director, and screenwriter based in India. He has done many Telugu movies as well as Bollywood movies. Rasool was born in Rajahmundry, India on 8 October 1964. His mother was a teacher in Rajahmundry while his father, an electrical engineer. Since childhood, he had a huge exposure to inspirational books since his mother was a teacher. He used to book weekly magazines like Time, National Geography, Readers Digest and much more. His father used to go to the movie theatre twice a week for technical work.

Rasool joined his father every week. Every week, the theatre used to show an English movie, Rasool made sure he never missed those movies. He was very fascinated with the outer world and the big horizon of the futuristic and developing environment even after coming from a small village. He believes that the exposure of books that he had, helped him nurture his mindset to a broader scale. When he was 16, Rasool got a Rolleiflex camera and then he became passionate about working with directors. His sister was married to S Gopal Reddy, a well-known director.

He went to him and asked him to make his apprentice. He worked with Reddy as a 1st apprentice for three years and then as a 3rd assistant. He entered the film industry in 1985. While Reddy was stuck with other important work, Rasool was asked to do the cinematography. He is married to Jahnavi Ellore.
