Acharya Venu is a South Indian cinematographer working in the Telugu film industry. He was born in Rajaiah Pally n Warangal, Telangana. He got his inspiration to become a cinematographer when he was in class 10th, someone from the JNTU Fine Arts College visited the village where Venu lives. They became friends and that person told Venu that he was studying cinematography, that’s where Venu got his motivation from. After two years, Venu went to the JNTU Fine Arts College to study cinematography.
After completing his studies Venu worked on many ads, fashion shoots, and sports promos. His first feature film was ‘Ma. Ama’ directed by Dominic Sangma. Fortunately, this film won an award in one of Asia’s largest and China’s only competitive film festival, that is, The Shanghai Film Festival.
