Anitha Lama, the famous dance choreographer, commonly known as Anee Lama is from Hyderabad. She went to Mangala Bhatt, the only Kathak teacher in Hyderabad at that time, and requested her to teach. Keeping her financial status in mind, she taught her for free. Gradually she started doing stage shows and worked as a dance teacher in a few schools. At the age of 21, she started working as an assistant choreographer in films, her first movie as an assistant choreographer was Shankardada MBBS.
She also worked in a film named Chiranjeevi. After this, she got married and had a child, because of which she took a gap. When she returned to the Tamil Film Industry, she worked with full zeal.
