Anitha Lama, the famous dance choreographer, commonly known as Anee Lama is from Hyderabad. This 5.6 feet tall dancer was the winner of Dance Baby Dance, which was the first dance TV show aired on Gemini TV. Her father passed away when she was five years old. Her mother single-handedly managed her studies up to high-school. She left her studies after high school due to financial issues. She went to Mangala Bhatt, the only Kathak teacher in Hyderabad at that time, and requested her to teach. Keeping her financial status in mind, she taught her for free. Gradually she started doing stage shows and worked as a dance teacher in a few schools. At the age of 21, she started working as an assistant choreographer in films, her first movie as an assistant choreographer was Shankardada MBBS.

She also worked in a film named Chiranjeevi. After this, she got married and had a child, because of which she took a gap. When she returned to the Tamil Film Industry, she worked with full zeal. Anitha Lama, aka Anee, is a choreographer. She was born in 1985 in Hyderabad. Her parents are from Darjeeling. Anitha's father worked in the Indian army. When Anitha was just six years, her father passed away. She used to dance at Ganesh Pandal puja.  As a woman, her film journey wasn't easy. Madhuri Dixit and Madhubala are her inspirations. She learned Kathak from Mangala Bhatt. Anitha started doing stage programs almost every single day and soon got opportunities as a choreographer.

She started her journey from Shankardada MBBS, a Chiranjeevi movie. After her first child was born, she took a break from her career. She returned after five years and worked as an assistant choreographer on "Dillaka." After working for two years, she became an independent choreographer.
