Karthick Naren is a film director who works predominately in Tamil film industry. Born in Ooty and a drop out from kumara Guru College of technology, Karthick is a film director, film producer, and a screenwriter as well. Naren dropped out from college in his third year of pursuing mechanical engineering from kumara Guru College. Then moving to Chennai he started assisting Dheeraj Vaidy in filmmaking. Born to Mr. MNG Mani and Mrs. Saratha Naren never even dreamt of pursuing filmmaking as his career. His father works as a consultant of NGOs and his mother is a professor of chemistry at Avinashilingam University. He assisted Dheeraj Vaidy for some time and then began writing his own script.

He faced a lot of rejections in regard to his script so he decided to direct it himself. It was a tough challenge for him to collect the required funds, cast and crew needed in the direction but he made it happen and the picture was shot in 28 days only. But the hardships did not end he had to work a lot for the promotion of the film. As it hit the cinemas in 2016, it turned to be a blockbuster giving karthick much fame and recognition. A mystery thriller it revolved around the story of a police officer who has lost one of his legs during the investigation of a case. Before working on his first feature Naren had already made five shorts films which are nirangal moondru, vizhiyin suvadugal, oomai karul, pralayam and pradhi. Pralayam is his first film and his first ever film too.

The picture leads to the launch of knight nostalgia filmotainment. All his short films were critically acclaimed for their storyline. After his first blockbuster feature, Karthick started getting numerous offers. His next release will again be a suspense thriller film which has been shot in 41 days. Set to release on 4th may 2018, it is a trilingual movie. Besides this Naren is working on another picture naadaga media which will be produced by him as well. Set to release in 2019 it will be an urban-centric movie based on school and college backdrop.
