He was conceived on 2 May 1974 in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. He is an Indian Film Screen Writer and director. He has worked dominantly worked in Tamil Film industry and keeps coming up with some gratifying work. He is the father of one of the most famous producers of Tamil movies, namely Baana Kaathadi, which was his debut film in the year 2010.

He founded the independent production company namely Madras Talkies, with his own elder brother, the director, and screenwriter Mani Ratnam. He was the father of one of the most famous producers of Tamil and Hindi movies, namely Iruvar (1997), Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), Aayitha Ezhuthu (2004), Yuva (2004), He was an Indian film director and TV professional with more than 17 years work experience in film writing, film direction, television fiction writing, event direction, reality show direction, creative management, novel writing, cinematic teaching, film making, and short fiction film making. Srinivasan died in an accident while he was trekking on a tourist resort in Manali along with his wife and his elder daughter on a sad Sunday, 27 May 2007. Srinivasan accidentally slipped and fell into a 100-foot-deep gorge. The world was not at ease on his unauspicious, unfateful death ay the age of 73 in the year 2007. This was seen as an event of grief.
