R Padma is a famous Indian actress. She worked in the Tamil film industry in the 1940s. Before entering the Tamil cinema, she used to work for TV commercials. She was popularly known as the Lux Soap Model for her TV commercial of Lux Soap. After she entered the Tamil film industry, she worked in the movies like Vaayadi (1940), Sabapathy (1941), Prabhavati (1947), Aayiram Thalaivangi Apoorva Chintamani (1947), Geeta Gandhi (1949), and Devamanohari (1951). She also worked in the movie En Manaivi in 1942. She was the actress and also the singer in the movie. She became famous for her role as Shivakami in the movie Sabapathy.
